Profile for The Channon Campground

My husband Hugh and I have been involved in rainforest regeneration, propagation, photography, research and protection for about 40 years. We wrote and published the series Australian Rainforest Plants, in the forest and in the garden, vols I-VI. We are have also co-produced an interactive computer key to all rainforest trees, shrubs and vines from Rockhampton to southern Victoria.

We have recently moved from upper Terania Creek, to The Channon (near Lismore in north-east NSW) where we now run a small farm and an even smaller campground. It is great being part of The Channon community which is an activist hub and has spear-headed the anti-gasfield movement.

The campground is very low-key, like us, and we try to attract people who are interested in the bush.
